Custom questions and service areas give you flexibility to tailor your survey to your club’s unique needs on top of the predefined template provided. You can:
Add custom questions within existing service areas
Create new custom service areas with questions specific to your club
Why Use Custom Questions or Service Areas?
Use this feature to:
Ask targeted follow-ups or service-specific questions
Capture feedback on experiences unique to your club
Personalize your survey without losing access to benchmarking from locked questions
How to Add a Custom Service Area
You can add a custom service area to the bottom of your existing questionnaire.
Steps:
Go to Edit Questionnaire Design
Scroll to the bottom of the template
Click Create Custom Service Area (bottom left corner)
Give your new service area a name and start adding questions
Notes:
You cannot delete predefined service areas, but you can toggle off all non locked questions within them to hide them from the live survey
Certain service areas like Loyalty, Date of Visit, and other fixed sections cannot be hidden or edited due to their role in benchmarking and data consistency
How to Add a Custom Question
You can add custom questions to (most but not all) service areas in your template.
Steps:
Open the service area where you want to add your custom question
Click Add Custom Question (bottom left of the service area)
Choose your question type:
Single choice
Multiple choice
10-point scale
Open-ended text
Each option includes a short description. To learn more, read our guide on selecting the right question type.
Follow the prompts to write your question and configure settings
Click Save
Your new custom question will appear at the bottom of the selected service area
Notes:
Some service areas do not support additional questions
If you want to ask a custom question in a restricted service area, we recommend:
Creating a custom service area
Giving it a similar title (e.g., “Food & Beverage – Cont'd”)
Adding your question(s) there
Best Practices
You can create multiple custom service areas if needed
All custom items are labeled in the editor so you can keep track
