The survey editor includes visual cues and interface elements that help you quickly understand the structure, logic, and status of your survey. These cues make it easier to manage and edit your content with confidence.
Editor Icons: What They Mean
Icons and labels appear next to each question or service area in the questionnaire editor only. These provide quick context without needing to open individual settings.
Icon or Label | Meaning |
✏️ Pencil | This is a question you can modify the text or options for. Your custom questions and service areas will always allow you to modify them. |
⠿ Six dots | This is the drag handle used to reorder custom questions or service areas. |
Custom | Identifies content you’ve created yourself (as opposed to predefined questions). |
Condition | Indicates the question uses conditional logic and only appears under certain conditions. |
IsRequired | Shows that the question is mandatory for respondents. |
🔒 Lock | Marks a question that can not be moved or edited. These will only appear on some predefined questions that are locked due to benchmarking reasons. |
Custom naming | This question has a custom naming option you can set. We will always provide a default value. |
Used in filter | The response options for this question are available as filter options in your dashboard. |
