Share of Wallet – What It Means & How to Use It

Use Share of Wallet to see how many rounds your players are playing at your club compared to others.

What is Share of Wallet?

Share of Wallet shows how many rounds a golfer plays at your club versus other clubs they visit. It helps you understand how loyal your golfers are and how much of their time and spending you capture.

Example: If a golfer played 30 rounds in the past year and 15 were at your club, your Share of Wallet is 50%.

Note: This feature is only available to clubs in the United States


Why it matters

Tracking Share of Wallet allows your club to:

  • Understand player loyalty through actual playing behavior

  • Compare your performance with neighboring clubs

  • Uncover opportunities to improve retention and grow your share of golfer activity


How it works

The Share of Wallet metric is powered by the question: “How many rounds have you played at [Your Club] in the last 12 months?”

Players are then shown a list of comparison clubs that you define. These responses generate a visual distribution in your dashboard showing how many rounds were played at your club vs. others.


How to set up the Share of Wallet question

You can choose to toggle the Share of Wallet question on or off in your Guest Survey. If toggled on, you’ll need to configure the question to define which other clubs appear as comparison options.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Survey > Manage survey (Guest Survey)

  2. Click Edit questionnaire

  3. In the design view, scroll to the Service areas section

  4. Expand the “Background Questions” service area

  5. Find the question:

    “How many rounds have you played at THECLUB in the last 12 months?”

  6. Toggle the question on if it isn't already

  7. Click the pencil icon next to the question to edit

  8. Under Your Club, search for and select your club

  9. Under Club selection method, choose one of two options:

    • Radius: Set a distance (e.g., 25 miles) from your club to auto-populate nearby facilities

    • Custom selection: Manually search and select clubs (max. 20 clubs) within a 500-mile radius

  10. (Optional) Use Facility Type to narrow down the results

  11. Once the comparison list looks correct, click Save

💡 The question must be toggled on for data to appear in your dashboard.


How to view Share of Wallet results

Once players respond to the survey, you can view the results in your dashboard:

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Menu > Guest Survey

  2. In the dashboard, find the left-hand panel labeled Evaluation Points

  3. Under Further Questions, click:

    “How many rounds have you played at THECLUB the last 12 months?”

  4. You’ll see a distribution chart showing how players split their rounds between your club and the comparison clubs you selected

Use filters to break down the data by player type, age group, handicap and more.


FAQs

Q: Does this include both members and guests?
A: Everyone who receives the guest survey will be able to answer this question, however in most cases guest surveys are limited to guests only through our integrations

Q: How often is the data updated?
A: It updates continuously as new survey responses come in.
