Closing a Shareable link Survey

If you want to close a survey, you can do so by generating a new link. To do this, follow these steps:

Navigating to your shareable link

  1. Click the dropdown menu of preferred survey card on homepage

  2. Select Survey Settings

  3. Under Collecting Responses, navigate Get a shareable link

  4. You are now in the Shareable link settings page

Here you can click Generate New Link, which will create a new shareable link and the old link will expire. This means that anyone who tries to access the survey through the old link will not be able to do so.

How it works

Generating a new shareable link will immediately invalidate the existing link and replace it with a new one.

This means:

  • The current link will stop working immediately

  • Anyone attempting to use the old link will no longer be able to access the survey

  • Any place where the old link has been shared (emails, websites, QR codes, manual communications, integrations, etc.) will stop working until updated with the new link

  • There is no longer a grace period. The old link expires instantly

Because of this, generating a new link is effectively how you close or expire a shareable link survey.

Important

Generating a new link is a permanent action. Before proceeding, please keep in mind:

  • The current shareable link will stop working immediately

  • Any existing placements of that link will no longer work until updated

  • This includes manual communications, QR codes, websites, and integrations such as Tee Sheet or Member Round

If your goal is to stop collecting responses through the current shareable link, generating a new link is the correct action.
